I am so in love with this gallery that all the stars aligned for this to happen. The Johnsons are close friends of ours. It’s been an honor to have photographed this family during some pretty significant milestones, but this one felt extra special. It’s been amazing seeing the growth between all three of them.

Devon reached out to me about setting up a family shoot. When the question of where to shoot it came up, I suggested Blue Marsh. I knew she enjoyed visiting blue Marsh often. I am not very familiar, so I thought it was an excellent opportunity to explore a bit. I didn’t really know what to expect and when I met them and followed them to the location, I was so surprised by how beautiful Blue Marsh State Hill Boat Launch is. We jumped in! We strolled along the beach, just chatting, and shooting, and chatting and running after Charlie. It was really a natural experience; nothing was forced.

The beauty of family

These three have gone through a lot this year; they planned and got married this fall. It was a perfect small intimate backyard wedding. I am sure it was not an easy task planning a wedding during these very uncertain times. We haven’t seen each other much with everything going on. Still, I was so happy to have documented their first family photoshoot as the Johnsons!

The best part of this whole experience was chasing after Charlotte. I am sure her dad felt the same way! She was plotting her escape the entire time we were together. Shoutout to the lady who stopped by with her portable speaker and entertained us, especially Charlie; she enjoyed it! And to all the doggies who helped catch her focus so I could do my thing!

These family portraits will be a great memory for years to come. I can’t wait to see how they are used and displayed. I hope you all enjoy these.
