It's not every day that the stars align so perfectly, but for the Johnson family photo shoot at Blue Marsh, everything was just right. Having been close friends with the Johnsons and witnessing their significant life events, this photo session held a special place in my heart. Watching the growth and bonding between Devon, her spouse, and their energetic daughter Charlotte has been remarkable.

Devon reached out to plan a family shoot, and when deciding on the location, I suggested Blue Marsh—a place she loves. Although unfamiliar, it provided the perfect backdrop for exploration and capturing stunning family moments. The Blue Marsh State Hill Boat Launch, particularly, surprised us with its scenic beauty, offering an ideal setting for our photo adventure.

Our session was filled with laughter and natural interactions, from leisurely strolls along the beach to chasing after little Charlotte, who was playfully plotting her escape throughout the day. The spontaneous moments made the shoot feel genuine and unforced.

This year has been a whirlwind for the Johnsons, culminating in a charming, intimate backyard wedding this fall. Despite the challenges of planning a wedding during uncertain times, they've created joyful memories that will last a lifetime. I feel privileged to have captured their first family photo shoot as the newly formed Johnsons.

The highlight of our session keeping up with Charlotte, much to her dad's amusement and slight exasperation. A big shoutout to the passerby who entertained us with her portable speaker—Charlotte loved it—and to all the friendly dogs that helped keep her engaged, allowing me to capture those perfect shots.

These family portraits are more than just photographs; they are a treasure trove of memories that the Johnsons will cherish and proudly display for years. I can't wait to see how they incorporate these images into their lives, and I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoyed taking them.
